Seventh Heaven :)

There are days when you walk into the library and feel delighted having picked up a book of a good read.

Recently, I read a book by Adene Halpern titled "The Ten Best Days Of My Life". The story is a recount of a 29 year old's life. Her name is Amy Adams. Amy found herself in heaven after being hit by a mini cooper car. Apparently, there are different levels in heaven and the best is seventh heaven (of course). This is a place where shoes don't pinch, fats and cellulite are gone, you have everything you desire in your heart. Life in seventh heaven is indeed wonderful! As the story goes, in order for Amy to remain in seventh heaven, Amy needs to write an essay on the 10 best days of her life. As I read through Amy's recount of her life, from birth right until her last day on earth, I had good laughs of Amy's happy moments, and I empathize when she recounts of unhappy incidents in her life.

Books of such nature often sets me thinking about my own life. What are the best days in my life? What things, which groups of people and what life experiences matters to me most, which I treasured most? Do I have 10 best days which I could name?

My dream since I was 13 was to visit Germany. When I was 20, I applied for a 6 months student exchange program in Mannheim, Germany, and was accepted. The excitement, happiness and feelings of gratitude were beyond words. The day I was set to fly out, I had lunch with my family. While I felt really sad leaving behind my family, I knew I was going to have the best time in my life, because I was fulfilling my dream. I wrote a farewell letter to my family and handed to them just before I went into the departure gate. I was all emotional because I knew this would not have been possible if I didn't have supportive parents. The day I arrived into Frankfurt airport, stepped out in the cold (since it was in Feb when I arrived), and took a breath of the cold air that it dawned upon me - this is real, I am in Germany. That was one of the best days in my life :)

As I live through life, I am sure I will have more "best days" in my life.

Let us live life, love life to the fullest!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
