vor meine Abfahrt (Before my departure)

Today is my last day in Singapore before flying to the country i've always been dreaming of to go to- Germany!! Its a dream come true. I've always wanted to stand in front of a football stadium in germany to experience how the footballers felt, wanted to go shopping in their grocery shops to carry bags and bags of groceries like we see in movies, to sit and just idle in a cafe observing the surroundings, to immerse myself into their culture. I just cant wait for Euro 2008! Germany will be playing against Poland in Klagenfurt, Austria on 8 June, which is on a sunday. I will try to be there no matter what. Germany all the way! Everytime i watch a football match on sports channel, i cant help but wish i were there witnessing the goals and victories. So, this is it!

My german teacher said that germans are very direct in speech and straighforward unlike asians. Hmm which is true. For me, i would often give mild comments or even sometimes choose not to comment at all! Which was why she had a hard time deciphering what people in Singapore actually meant. But i do hope to get used to it soon and make a few forthright friends.

As the day of my departure nears, i have a sudden feeling to forget about this whole thing. It sounds crazy. I mean my german classmates would have readily offered to take my place. But after spending time with my friends and family, i just can't help but to feel sad leaving them for 6 months. I must admit i'm a homely person. But i really want to thank my parents for giving me this opportunity to go Germany even though they haven't even been there yet. And also to thank my 2 lovely friends deb and yy for reminding me time and time again about the unseen danger being overseas. Guns and stuff. Yea, i'll remember to protect myself! And most importantly to thank God who is always faithful and guiding my direction in life!

So in about another 20 hours, Germany here i come!

Oh man, now you now what I mean when I say I'm kind of dreading Thursday. Like, funny. You're the 2nd person who mentioned dropping out of SEP. Haha, yes too sudden to do that of course, but really, it had me pondering for awhile.

It's okay, you've got me and I've got you and we can mope/be silly/get excited on the airplane together, hopefully we don't drive Boon Song crazy. Haha! :)
